Do I need to ship through my local FFL?
All shipping of serialized and non-serialized parts can be handled through us because we are a licensed FFL manufacturer / dealer. FFL number: 1-56-xxx-xx-xx-08434 FFL EZ Check. We are happy to provide a FILE copy of our FFL to you or your shipping source when requested. For serialized parts and complete firearms, we are required to ship it back to the address that is listed on your government issued ID (i.e. driver's license, passport, military ID, etc.) that you provide. When shipping these types of items, please include a legible copy of your chosen form of identification. For non-serialized parts, you ship it directly to us, and we can ship them back to anyone or anywhere you specify. It is required by law that a person that does not possess a valid FFL, must ship handguns by 2nd day air with a contract carrier (UPS, FEDEX, etc.). Long guns can be shipped with ground service by the USPS or a contract carrier. We will primarily use insured USPS for return shipping mainly because of cost of service.
Basic guidelines for shipping firearms:
*Handguns must be shipped 2nd day air by a contract carrier. Please do not use your local post office. We do not know the consequences of shipping it any other way, but we do know it is a law and why risk it?
*Long guns and non-serialized parts can be shipped by ground service. USPS is the cheapest.
*Please use either carrier pickup or take it directly to a service center, it will save you money and it is much more reliable than your local pack and ship center.
*Please buy insurance for the full value of you items. Insurance is cheap, firearms are not and please note on your work order how much insurance you would like placed on your return shipment.
*Declare that you are shipping an unloaded firearm for repairs. They should give you no trouble, it is perfectly legal.
*MAKE SURE YOUR FIREARM IS UNLOADED!!! You would be surprised with what we have received.
*Do not ship any ammo with your firearms.
*Make sure your firearms and parts are packed well with sufficient cushioning for the journey.
*Please include an itemized packing list of everything that you send us. We cannot be held responsible for anything that is not documented.
*When ready to ship, please print and fill out our work order form and send your items to:

What kind of turnaround time should I expect?
Our turnaround time can depend on many factors. Special order parts, colors, stencils, and seasonal runs will affect our turnaround time. Most jobs, with the exception of custom builds and intricate finishes will be completed within the turnaround time on the top of the home page of receiving the item. With builds and finishes, it can take anywhere from two to eight weeks depending on what we have to do. We will always keep you informed of any delays we encounter.
Can Weapon Works disassemble and reassemble my project?
Yes, we have a team of professionally trained armorers and gunsmiths that can tackle disassembly and reassembly for you. We will only reassemble firearms that we have disassembled, we do not offer assembly as a standalone service. We must perform disassembly AND reassembly if you want to use our shop for this service.
What kind of warranty or guarantee do you offer, and what is your return policy?
Anything that we work on, finish or build is covered by our limited lifetime warranty. If your firearm finish ever cracks, peels, chips, or breaks as a result of our workmanship, we will repair, replace, or refinish it at no cost to you, to and from shipping included. We cannot cover excessive wear from normal use (i.e. holster marks, blemishes from dropping or abuse, etc.). We also cannot warranty guns that are used in a police or military application. Our return policy is that if you are unhappy with our work, or with any products you receive from us, please feel free to contact us, and we will correct the issue right away. If you decide you do not want any product you buy from us, we will accept returns within 15 days of you receiving the product, given the items are in an unaltered from the condition we shipped it in.
How do I maintain my newly finished firearm?
We suggest to treat Cerakoted firearms as you would any other firearm. Cerakote is impervious to all solvent, lubricants, and other products designed for use on firearms. Cerakote is TOUGH, as long as you don't drop it in a vat of acid or leave it in the ocean for a couple years, it will be fine.
What parts can be coated with Cerakote?
With Cerakote, virtually any part of a gun that is not made of rubber can be coated. However, our policy is to not coat any critical contact points (sears, safeties, triggers, disconnectors, etc.), aftermarket match triggers, springs, inside of barrels or chambers. Some springs that are attached permanantly to a gun must sometimes be coated. In these instances these spring will be coated, but we will not coat anything that will affect the function of your firearm.
When can I use my newly finished firearm?
As soon as you receive them back from us. All of our finishes are fully cured when they are shipped back to you.
