For the safety of our shooters, staff, and equipment, certain firearms, ammunition types, and items are not permitted at Weapon Works LLC's indoor gun range in Burlington, NC. Please review the list below carefully before your visit. If you arrive with restricted items, you'll be asked to either leave them in your vehicle or, in the case of restricted ammunition, purchase approved ammunition from our pro shop on-site.
Restricted ammunition includes steel-core ammunition, steel-jacketed and bi-metal jacketed ammunition, armor-piercing rounds, tracer rounds, incendiary rounds, green tip ammunition (M855), and reloaded or hand-loaded ammunition. These rounds can damage our backstop, ricochet unpredictably, or create fire hazards inside an indoor facility. We sell a wide selection of approved range ammunition on-site if you're unsure whether yours qualifies — when in doubt, ask a staff member at the front counter before heading to the lane.
Certain firearms and calibers are also restricted at our indoor range. We do not permit fully automatic fire (unless during a sanctioned event), .50 BMG and other oversized calibers, black powder firearms, or any firearm in an unsafe condition. If you have questions about whether a specific firearm or caliber is allowed, please call us before your visit.
Other items that are not permitted on the range itself include food and beverages (welcome in the lobby), alcohol, illegal drugs, and personal cameras or recording equipment without staff approval. Anyone who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed on the range, no exceptions. Concealed carry permit holders are welcome to carry inside the facility, but firearms must remain holstered until you are at your assigned lane.
A few additional notes: bags and range bags are welcome but may be subject to inspection at the discretion of staff; outside targets must be approved by staff before use; and any item that creates a safety concern in the judgment of a Range Safety Officer may be restricted on the spot. Our RSOs have final authority on all safety decisions inside the facility.
If you're not sure whether something you'd like to bring is allowed, the easiest thing to do is call us ahead of time at 800-556-9498. We'd much rather answer a quick question over the phone than turn anyone away at the door. We sell approved ammunition, targets, eye and ear protection, and most other range essentials in our pro shop, so even if you arrive empty-handed, we'll get you set up.
